2008 Lincoln Mark LT Review

ByJoel Patel

The 2008 Lincoln Mark LT is a large luxury pickup truck that can seat up to five people. It’s meant for drivers who want a capable truck with competitive towing and payload capacities, as well as a premium interior design. When properly equipped, the Mark LT has up to 8,900 pounds of towing capacity and a maximum payload capacity of 1,570 pounds, which are competitive figures for the class. Beyond being a capable pickup, the Mark LT also has an upscale design and high-end convenience features. And for a pickup truck, it delivers a comfortable ride.

The Mark LT separates itself from other full-size pickup trucks with its luxurious cabin, relatively smooth ride, and roomy seats. Keep in mind, though, it trails key rivals when it comes to towing capacity, engine performance, available configurations, and interior quality. While the Mark LT has a handsome interior design, the truck’s cabin has some hard plastics that stop it from feeling as nice as some rivals. Lincoln also sells the Mark LT with a 300-horsepower V8 engine, which isn’t as powerful as engines found in competitors. Lastly, some of the Mark LT’s rivals have up to 10,580 pounds of towing capacity and Lincoln’s pickup is only available in a crew cab body style.

Lincoln Mark LT Changes for 2008

2008 Lincoln Mark LT vs. the Competition

A large pickup truck such as the Mark LT is an ideal choice for shoppers who need a truck that can tow up to 8,900 pounds, has premium convenience features, and has roomy seats. The Mark LT competes with these rivals:

  • Cadillac Escalade EXT: Bold exterior styling, standard 403-horsepower V8 engine, 7,600-pound towing capacity, innovative midgate design, and an upscale interior.

  • GMC Sierra 1500: Can tow up to 10,500 pounds, available with a 403-horsepower V8 engine, comfortable seats, good build quality, and a wide range of configurations.

  • Toyota Tundra: Extensive range of configurations, available 381-horsepower V8 engine, 10,800-pound towing capacity, spacious seats, and a lengthy list of optional features.

Excellent truck - 10/10 recommend

Excellent truck - 10/10 recommend. Absolutely stunning appearance. Lincoln sound deadening and leather. I've had my truck for a decade. I've driven it 170K miles. I've pushed it to the limit many times while towing. It is exceptionally quiet inside and drives exceptionally. If you get one, get a cold air kit and a Edge Evolution tuner. Run the tow tune for optimum MPGs. It is a 5.4 Triton so budget to bulletproof it accordingly. They often need timing chain tensioners or a full timing job at 150K miles or so. Use ONLY Ford timing parts. Install a Melling GT500 blueprinted oil pump. 2014 Navigator rims are the best bet if the chrome wheels are flaking.
